How To Swing A Golf Club

Golf is one of the favorite sports in several countries these days. Normally, people gather around the golf course to discuss business meetings or to simply unwind during the weekends. As the day pass by, golf players will feel relaxed and happy as they keep on swinging their golf clubs. They will feel even happier if each time they swing their golf clubs they are creating a perfect hit on the ball and will result to a win in the game.

When golf is played during business meetings or during relaxation time with friends, golf is played in a not so competitive manner. However, even if there were less pressure on your shoulders to win the game, it would still feel different to know that you played well.

Being able to play a good game in golf starts with knowing how to properly swing the golf club. It is according to the way you swing the golf club that will direct the ball to its direction. If you do not swing the golf club properly, there is a big chance that your turn to swing the ball will be wasted. To be able to learn how to properly swing the golf club, there are several things that should be taken into consideration first. These are the grip, body posture and the way you think during the game.

grip is all about the way you hold the golf club. You need to develop a firm hold on the golf club to ensure that your hands will not twist into a different direction as you swing. The grip should not be too tight or too loose. Just put enough pressure in your hands to ensure that you are holding the golf club properly. The perfect sign to see if you are not holding your golf club properly is to see if you will develop blisters after the game. There are different types of grip that will suite your preference. Each of this type may have differences but it all follows the basic elements in making a proper grip.

Another element in having a proper swing is your posture. If you lack proper posture, everything will be affected in your swing. Even if you try to hide it, there are certain instances like your balance, stance, bending or knee flex that will be affected if you have poor posture. Proper posture is the foundation in putting your body into place as you prepare to swing the ball and without it, it would be difficult or even impossible to swing perfectly.

Lastly, your current state of mind plays an important role in executing a perfect swing. Golf is not a physical game. It requires ample amount of concentration so you need to relax your mind as you prepare to release the swing.

Generally speaking, golf is more than just a game being played by businessmen. It may be a very easy game but when you do things incorrectly, it might turn out to harder than you imagined it to be.

Central Florida Vacation - Part Three

Our special Anniversary trip started as a surprise for my husband with a 4 night walt disney world stay at Disneys Beach Club Resort and 3 night Disney Cruise vacation to Nassau, in the Bahamas onboard the Disney Wonder. The final day of our trip after our cruise, he selected the activities we would enjoy.

He rented a new Ford Mustang for the day at the airport and decided to stay at the hotel in the airport itself, as we had a very early flight on Monday morning.

We spent a couple of hours just driving around the old neighborhoods we had lived in, and even found time to do a little shopping at the Mall. We also stopped at Orlando Harley Davidson to make a few last minute purchases. We then decided to spend the rest of the day at Sea world, where my husband was anxious to try out the new roller coaster.

The day was sunny but a little cooler than it had been, more seasonal as early December should be! We spent a couple of hours on the beautiful grounds at Sea world, saw the Shamau show, and toured several of the exhibits. Then we headed to the new (to us!) Kraken roller coaster, where I was not brave enough to join my husband -- I waited at the end of the ride, while he enjoyed the thrills, which was so intense, he decided to go again! Since it wasnt as warm as it had been, I ducked into a gift shop to stay warm while I waited. He enjoyed the ride three times in row, and was satisfied to have his coaster fix for the day.

Since the afternoon was wearing down, we decided to head out and look for a spot to have a bite to eat. We drove to Kissimmee and settled on The Olive Garden, since we dont have one near us at home. We passed by old Town in Kissimmee, and decided to return there after dinner to walk around and see what was new since wed been there 10 years earlier.

My husband, ever on the lookout for an adrenaline rush, immediately headed toward the Sky coaster its not quite hang gliding and not quite sky diving, but its close with three 300-foot towers, you are strapped in a harness, raised to the full 300-foot height, then you pull the rip cord to release, swinging in a 600-foot arc for the thrill of a lifetime.

This was way out of my comfort zone and he had to brave the ride alone, while I watched safely on the ground. The intensity and thrill are incomparable and he would have gone for a dozen rides if others had not been waiting their turn.

As the evening was winding down, we headed back to the airport to return our rental, and finish our last minute packing. This final day had been filled with happy memories, jammed full of activity, good eats, and a fair amount of adventure.

Our Central florida vacation was coming to a close, and we went to bed that night, exhilarated, exhausted, content, and a little sad to leave it all behind. Monday dawned clear and warm again, and we reluctantly boarded our flight home with florida sending us off with a final warm embrace and sunny skies.

There is so much to see and do in Central florida and walt disney world that no matter how much you actually do get to, there will always be something you had to leave out. So make the most of each day, take the time enjoy the surroundings, and delight in each event to the fullest. We had a mixture of some old favorites and plenty of new experiences and not one regret for time we spent. Hopefully it wont be another decade before we go back, but thats another story

Katrina - Have We Learned Anything at All?

On this second anniversary of the disaster now known by a single word - "Katrina"

all of us in disaster response look around and shake our heads. One year ago we saw misstep after misstep, failure after failure. As we look back over a landscape that is still scarred by the aftermath of flooding and looting to see both despair and rebirth we ask ourselves: Are we any better prepared today?

Two recent reports by the national Academies of Science clearly stated that Americas hospitals and emergency rooms are no more prepared now than one or even five years ago. Worse, hospitals have failed to integrate emergency medical services (EMS) into their planning and response operations. This first link in the chain is not broken it is simply unhitched.

What happens the next time Mother Nature roars? We cannot yet mitigate an earthquake or a hurricane, a tornado or a volcano. We have yet to learn how to immunize our planet against the next great pandemic or the next plague.

Why is it after we see one of the great cities of america laid low and sunk beneath the waters of its own shores that we have yet to do any meaningful planning? This is not our governments fault. Money is available and spent every day for training. Why we must fight to get any hospital to train to avoid the next catastrophic failure in the wake of unavoidable disaster?

On those occasions when healthcare does choose to train, it is discouraging to see a room more than half empty. In a profession that loudly proclaims a dedication to patient safety and customer care, to see so few people interested in preserving the most necessary of community resources, healthcare, is demoralizing beyond words. disasters can seldom be avoided. On the other hand, catastrophe can almost always be averted with conscientious planning and practice. The difference between a disaster and a catastrophe is that while disaster is when needs exceed resources, catastrophe is when needs exceed all ability to respond.

Equally disturbing is the territorialism among the specialties, each one laying claim to disaster medicine. Most healthcare delivered after a disaster is a simple the daily practice medicine under the worst conditions. These groups fail to realize that Disaster Medicine is primarily practiced before the disaster ever strikes. Disaster Medicine Specialists are part and parcel of planning for the community disaster response and the elimination of profession-specific silos of authority and knowledge. Rather than embracing the concept of board certification in the new specialty of Disaster Medicine, these territorial and fractious groups seek to stake their claim. They have learned nothing.

The good news, Disaster Life Support (DLS) has become the national standard for preparedness of individuals, families, businesses and healthcare professionals, Healthcare first Responder training (HFR) has become the ruler by which hospitals and other healthcare institutions are measured. While it is frustratingly difficult to get these audiences to come to class, it is immensely rewarding when they finally understand how important it is to be prepared, to be aware and to be able to protect themselves, their families, their communities, and their patients. Much like the early days of CPR, it will take time for the nation to understand the importance of every man, woman and child knowing what to do when the wind blows, the buildings falls, or the whole planet sneezes at once. Until then, we who teach these most precious skills will continue to strive to ensure that everyone goes home alive at the end of the day.

Will the gulf coast and New orleans recover?

Certainly in time.

The bigger question is will we ever learn to be D.I.S.A.S.T.E.R. R.E.A.D.Y. & P.L.A.N.?
